Meet the Nurse

Mrs. Dana M. Castro

Welcome to the Langtree Elementary Nurse’s Page!  My name is Dana Castro and I have been working as a nurse for 22 years.  It is said that if you find a career you love, you never have to work a day in your life.  I can honestly say this is certainly true for me!

I received my BSN and MSN from Drexel University, and worked as a staff nurse at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, specializing in neonatal intensive care and pediatrics.  I have also spent many years teaching nursing at the university level and have spent time doing pediatric home care nursing.  After all of these years working in the hospital and teaching hundreds of students, I realized it was time to merge my love of teaching and children and become a school nurse.  Working with K through 5th grade is such a joy, so much growth and development happens in these halls!

I was born and raised in Hamilton and most of my family still lives here.  To the left is my husband Zeke, and my sons Zachary, Maximilian and Sebastian.  When I am not working, I am busy cheering these 3 on in their baseball, football, and soccer games.  We also love to spend time with our miniature schnauzer, Fritz.  I look forward to helping you and your family this school year!
